Pigment International’s Glory! Glory! opening on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, is a civic-centered exhibition foregrounding Black artistic perspectives on the imagery and symbolism of the U.S. flag. A central highlight is Robert Lewis Clark’s monumental Flag 44, an 11-foot-wide by 8-foot-high commemorative work that honors the legacy of Barack Obama’s presidency as the 44th President of the United States. aligning with the broader thematic concerns of Glory! Glory! around identity, agency, and political history. 


 Clark’s artistic trajectory—traced in exhibitions like Series of Commands by Black—reveals a commitment to finding beauty and resonance in the overlooked and discarded. His creative process elevates automotive fragments and hardware into compositions that challenge traditional hierarchies of material and meaning, 

Flag 44 has been exhibited across the city in recent years, becoming a focal point for community engagement and artistic dialogue about race, patriotism, and representation.


The Glory! Glory! exhibition features works by Nate Austin, Paul Branton Nnaemeka Ekwelum, Candace Hunter, and Scott Terry, and contributions from students of the Gary Comer Youth Center (GCYC).
