Pigment International announces Glory! Glory!, a group exhibition examining symbolism, citizenship, and collective power through contemporary Black art. The exhibition opens Friday, February 20, at Zhou B Art Center 1029 W. 35th Street, with a reception from 7:00–10:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public, advance registration required via Eventbrite.

Glory! Glory! is presented as part of Pigment International’s 2026 editorial and programming initiative, America 250 – We ARE the People, a year-long focus commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary by centering Black artists as critical interpreters of American identity, history, and civic life.

Participating artists include Robert Lewis Clark, Reggie McFly, Nate Autin, Scott Terry, Paul Branton, Candace Hunter, and Nnaemeka Ekwelum. Ekwelum’s work most recently appeared in a restaging of The People’s Flag Show, the landmark 1970 political art exhibition originally held at Judson Memorial Church in New York City—an important historical reference point for Glory! Glory! and its exploration of protest, patriotism, and public voice.

The opening evening will feature interactive components, including facilitated audience engagement around the themes of flags, freedom, and self-representation, as well as informal artist conversations designed to encourage dialogue between artists and attendees.

Partners for Glory! Glory! include Zhou B Art CenterMahogany Gallery (Racine)Know Your PowerVilla Schinosa, and State Representative Kimberly du Buclet, Chair of the Illinois House Arts, Culture & Entertainment Committee.

Stay tuned for details on events during the exhibition, including the closing reception on March 20, curated by Mahogany Gallery.
