Board games, good company, and a conversation that matters — that's the lineup for Pigment International's Revolutionary Game Night on Friday, August 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Vjosa aCafe 1010 W. 35th Street in Bridgeport.
Bring your competitive spirit for an evening of games, then settle in for a special artist talk with longtime Pigment collaborator Edo, whose latest series, C.O.L.O.U.R.S., unpacks the racism embedded in minstrelsy and early animation dating back to the 19th century. Edo will be in conversation with D.E. Simmons of Diasporal Rhythms, unpacking how these visual histories shaped — and still shape — perceptions of Black identity on screen.
It's the kind of evening Pigment does best: play, community, and art that asks us to look closer.
